ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE: New Song Posted Online
April 4, 2009Chico, California-based exteme metallers ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE have posted a new song, "We Fell From the Bottom", on their MySpace page. The track comes off the band's recently completed debut album, "Defeat", which was mixed by Eric Stenman (DEFTONES, FAR, SAVES THE DAY) and is scheduled for release this summer via an as-yet-undisclosed label.
ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE guitarist Cayle Hunter was previously in Sacramento's WILL HAVEN and THE ABOMINABLE IRON SLOTH, while drummer Nick Harris bashed the skins for the popular RED WITH ENVY.
ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE has found a winning formula — taking the best elements of bands like HELMET and PANTERA, with plenty of guttural growls offset with melodic passages.
While Hunter is a self-proclaimed "riffaholic," he says there are too many bands that are influenced only by music in their genre, something he and his bandmates avoid. "Hopefully listening to other music will make it more interesting," Hunter said. "If I just listened to metal, it would be an imitation."
